Hi, I’m Emily Krabill and this isn’t my first blog entry. You may or may not know me from my own blog that’s called agentkrabie.wordpress.com. Normally, I blog freely about anything that pops into my mind. I’m not used to just blogging on cue when I’m told to. I’m good, just something different, I’ll get used to it. I just gotta relax, what can I say about myself that isn’t inappropriate and good for the workplace?
But what’s life without challenges, risks or something to overcome? Life does tend to be a journey, journey’s have challenges, risks, problems that we can learn to adapt and overcome. I love being able to question the status quo of life and breaking free from predictability. I’m all about being yourself, being different and being proud of who we are. Even despite my own insecurities, scars, and flaws. Going outside of my comfort zone and trying something new.

So, now that I’ve broken into something real, so far I’m really enjoying my time with getting familiar with the Soapy Gnome. Getting familiar with the people, the business, and what needs to be done on the job. I’m definitely familiar with gnomes; my mom has recently decorated her home with gnomes for Christmas. Little stuffed gnomes, gnome pillows, etc.
Anyway, before I got started to work for the Soapy Gnome, I was a customer. When I first walked in I remember loving how the place smells. I have fond memories walking in here with my friend, Monica Tarman. She’d be so excited that I’m going to be working here; she loves this place as much as I do.
So, I thought this was a shadow on considering my options for work. But, I got the job, yay, I’m glad. I got to clean bathrooms, getting familiarized with what other stuff they use, by cleaning dishes by hand. Just like the ole days when Monica and I had an apartment with no dishwasher. Or doing dishes at Goshen College and doing chores at home. I also got to package shower fizzies as well as box and label soaps.
"The soaps here are like the star of the place. It’s a huge part of the business and everything about 'em’ is incredible."
The soaps here are like the star of the place. It’s a huge part of the business and everything about 'em’ is incredible. It’s so beautiful, the packaging, how it’s made, how the soap looks and smells. I’m obsessed with them, everything about ‘em. Boxing and labeling them is my favorite part of it all. It’s so aesthetically pleasing to the eye and is very satisfying to do.
I’ve always thought that this place is very much like home. Cozy, comfortable, happy; but at the least absolutely content. I remember when this place was smaller and closer to my own apartment from back in the day; in 2019. My mom has gotten to be obsessed with buffalo plaid and gnomes galore, so I can’t wait to see her face when she checks out how much the place has changed. I remember buying gifts for my family from here a little while ago.
This place is so charming, there’s just always something about this place I can’t help but love. I love that it expanded and rebranded. The products here are so cool, I just love the aesthetic of this place. It’s so beautiful and I hope that this place has that special place in your heart as much it does for me. I hope you feel comfortable, happy or at least content here. Thank you for this opportunity, I can’t wait to get started. I hope you enjoy it.

Welcome Emily !!!!! 😊
This email makes me so happy! I worked at the high school when she was a student. Another reason for me to stop in.
Welcome, Emily! So nice to “meet” you online. I’ve long been a customer of Soapy Gnome and it’s nice to know who packs the beautifully wrapped packages that I receive each month.
