Meet the Maker: Benjamin Partridge
The vibrant designs of The Owlery organic cotton tea towels and napkins definitely catch your attention as you browse through the kitchen section of Soapy Gnome. Benjamin Partridge is the founder, printmaker and surface pattern designer of The Owlery.
Ben lives and works in Sheffield which is located in the Yorkshire district of England. He has worked as a teacher in a Special Educational Needs School. Benjamin is currently completing his PhD in Psychology and also lecturing at the University of Sheffield all while he grows his business.

As you admire Ben’s designs it is easy to see his fascination with animals. He shares that the beauty of Yorkshire offers great inspiration. Not surprisingly, Partridge’s subject of choice is of the avian variety. He has work featuring the wren, blue jay and many other species of birds.
